The technical Generalist is responsible for developing detailed retrofit solutions and technical quotations that best matches the customers’ needs with the Krones’ solutions. They also Leverage on the technical expertise to identify high returns opportunities/solutions and in collaboration with all relevant Krones departments, proper and consistent engagement with all stakeholders successfully implements the solution.

Your Tasks

 

  • Understanding of customer needs for their current operational issues and find feasible solutions as per customer’s requirements.
  • Preparing retrofit quotations as per customer request in SAP.
  • Preparing service budget quotation as per customer request.
  • Close interaction with customers and various departments within Krones East Africa office and Krones AG to ensure effective communication and clarification on customer and project needs.
  • Coordination with Project managers & customers on all technical clarifications and queries before orders are processed.
  • Keep customers and internal stakeholders informed on the status of their orders and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Follow up with Project managers and the Sales Team on OPEN quotations to ascertain the status of potential orders.
  • Visit to customer sites for any technical clarifications or explanations of quotations in DC02 (Retrofits).
  • Regular travel to customer locations, Krones solution presentations to customers and attending relevant project meetings.
  • General administration and any other duties as assigned.

Your Profile

 

  • University degree or Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the filling and packaging industry of flat/carbonated and hot filling technology
  • Krones equipment experience is preferred.
  • Have a strong grip on the below-mentioned technologies with comprehensive knowledge:
    • Blow molder and its complete operations  
    • Filler and its complete operations
    • Label machine and its complete operations (Wrap around label, Self-adhesive & cold glue)
    • Washer/Mixer technology
    • Packer, Palletizer, De-palletizers
    • Water treatment, RO and Mixers etc.
  • Advanced knowledge in SAP & MS Office applications.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
  • Ability to work with different cultures, a good team player.
  • No obstacles in travelling for business up to 30%
  • Strong analytical technical and Negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, solution orientated, deadline driven individual with good time management skills.
