As the Head of Finance & Tax you will strategically lead financial control and tax compliance across the Middle East and Africa region. The focus of the role is ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing tax strategies, and maintaining compliance with diverse regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, regional expertise, and a proactive approach to financial governance.

Your Tasks

Financial Management:

  • Oversee financial operations across MEA entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ensure group IFRS guidelines are implemented and followed
  • Monitor, liaise and support subsidiaries with receivables – optimal outstanding balances and be involved in the escalation process of overdue balances
  • Take a leading role from an FI perspective in the implementation of the new ERP system, ensuring optimal integration from a finance perspective and alignment with the group's global standards and policies.
  • Act as a strategic liaison among the group, regional management, and subsidiaries to ensure seamless communication and operational alignment
  • Support and work in close collaboration with Treasury
  • Drive “one reporting” in the MEA region for FI (standardize reporting to achieve one source of truth)  

Tax Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all local tax laws (e.g., VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax) across MEA countries. Oversee tax audits, filings, and relationships with tax authorities.
  • Advise on cross-border transactions, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and permanent establishment risks. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Governance & Risk: Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to group financial policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors across the region & assist subsidiaries, if necessary, with internal and external audits.     

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and develop finance and tax teams across multiple countries. Collaborate with regional, legal, commercial, and operational teams to support business initiatives.
  • Act as a key liaison between regional offices and global headquarters.

Ad-hoc tasks assigned from time to time as necessary and required by the business.

Your Profile

  • Finance & Tax -Bach Accounting, Finance with Post Grad will be an advantage
  • Registered with recognised accounting body will be preferred
  • Solid working understanding of IFRS and IAS
  • Sound decision making skills based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Results oriented and metrics driven
  • Exceptional time management and able to solve problems
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills,
  • Ability to lead by example and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity, ethics and dependability
  • Strategic thinking, planning and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in MS office and SAP applications
  • Ability to collaborate with upper management to organize, plan and achieve company financial goals
